A Patron for FBGP
We are pleased to announce that Aled Jones, Welsh singer and radio and television presenter, has agreed to become a Patron of FBGP. Born in Bangor and brought up on Anglesey, Aled reached widespread fame in the 1980s as a teenage chorister and since then has had a successful career and varied career including as a contestant on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Said Aled about taking on the role of FBGP Patron:
“I am delighted to become a Patron of the Friends of Bangor Garth Pier and to support their work ensuring a sustainable future for this iconic heritage structure in the City of Bangor. Growing up locally and singing in Bangor Cathedral as a young chorister, Bangor Garth Pier was an important visual landmark of my youth. The work of FBGP will enable this unique and special place to be enjoyed by the local community and visitors to the area for generations to come.”
We are looking forward to welcoming Aled to the pier as soon as his busy schedule will allow.
